Kol High Holiday Food Drive
Starting now, throughout the High Holidays, please bring non expired, non-perishable food to Kol for donation throughout our community. This year we are proud to expand our collection to include a local college food pantry. The amount of college students with food insecurity is high and we can help - by donating; kid friendly food - ramen, snacks, granola etc. And we are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley to donate non-perishable foods like rice, peanut butter, soups, cereals, canned goods etc. Look through your cabinets, buy a few extra items when you are in the supermarket. The need is great and every little bit helps. Let’s work together on this Tikkun Olam effort and make this year's collection the largest yet. Look for the collection boxes at both entrances. Todah Rabah.
Reverse Tashlich
Due to poor weather condition on Sunday, September 10 the Reverse Tashlich had to be postponed. The new date for the Reverse Tashlich will be Sunday, October 1 at 12:00pm at Plum Point Park on Route 9W in Newburgh. Tashlich is the Rosh Hashanah ritual in which Jews begin the New Year by symbolically casting off last year's sins by tossing bread crumbs into a body of water. This year we will remove pollution from the water and clean up local waterfronts. Come dressed ready to work outside. Bring garbage bags, rakes & work gloves. Everyone is welcome to join this national movement to improve our planet. No cost to attend. RSVP by September 28.
