This film profiles adolescent Lior Liebling, born with Down syndrome and revered as a "spiritual genius" within his close-knit Jewish community, as he prepares for his Bar Mitzvah.

First Jewish Museum & Cultural Festival of the Hudson Valley – 11:00am – 3:00pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Kol Yisrael, 290 North Street, Newburgh. The KOL Yisrael Joint Programming Committee invites the community to submit items for curation for the first Jewish Museum of the Hudson Valley at a campus-wide event. Examples of items to submit include but are not limited to Jewelry, Family heirlooms, and Artifacts of significance. We will publicly display these items in a secure room in the building on that day. Owners can stand next to their displays to share the history and meaning with museum guests. Security will be provided to ensure the safety of the presenters and artifacts. If the presenter prefers, a photograph of the item can be displayed instead of the actual item. Gift of Life Bone Marrow Swabbing Drive – 1:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 31 at Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz, 107 Broadway in Newburgh. We are holding this swabbing drive in conjunction with a blood drive being done by the NY Blood Bank. Gift of Life is desperately looking for matches for three people of African-American or Hispanic descent, so we are hoping that we will be able to swab a good number of people from our community, and hopefully find their miracle matches. If you are able to volunteer for a 2 or 3 hour shift during that day, it would truly be appreciated. Please let Sherrill Lazarus (smlazarus@yahoo.com) know what hours you can help out.
